For venture firms

One system for the deal, the decision and the LP statement.

A fund runs on records that have to agree: the committee's decision, the term sheet you signed, the cheque you wired, the capital call your LPs paid and the statement they receive. VentureFract keeps them in one place, so each is built from the one before it.

No card needed to start.

A day in the life

Follow one deal through the firm.

Source and screen

Import the deals you already track from a CSV, or add them one at a time. Score them against your thesis, put the six pipeline stages in the order your firm uses, and see which deals have stalled.

Decide on the record

Write the memo, circulate it, collect committee votes and record the decision with its reasoning. Only the chair can record it, and closing a deal needs an approving decision and a countersigned term sheet.

Close and track

Issue the term sheet, have it countersigned, and close. Closing creates the position and warns you if it would exceed what the fund's LPs have committed (a partner can acknowledge the warning and go ahead).

Report to LPs

Issue capital calls and record each payment on the day it arrived. Post distributions, and each LP can download a capital account statement and a quarterly report as PDFs from their portal.

Your team and your LPs

Everyone sees what their role allows.

  • Roles for GPs, analysts, operations, LPs and founders, each limited to its own part of the product
  • Each LP sees their own capital account and the fund's figures, never another LP's numbers
  • Founders report through a link from your firm, and you see who has opened a request and who has not (for requests sent as tracked links)
  • Opening a document in the data room is logged, and an audit trail records changes
  • An LP's own return figure is shown as an estimate and says how it is calculated
What it costs

The Firm plan is $900 a month.

It includes 8 seats and one vehicle. Add seats (up to 25, at $80 each) and vehicles (up to 4, at $350 each) as the firm grows; beyond that, Institutional has no vehicle limit. The LP portal comes with Firm. Every new firm starts with a 14-day free trial and no card; the trial holds 1 seat, 10 deals and 3 portfolio positions, so you can judge it on your own data before choosing a plan.

Questions

Venture firms, answered.

Can my LPs see each other's numbers?

No. An LP sees their own capital account, their own calls, payments and distributions, and the fund-level figures that apply to everyone. Each LP is limited to their own account.

Can I run more than one fund?

Yes. Each fund is a vehicle. The Firm plan includes one and lets you add up to 4 in all; Institutional has no limit on vehicles.

Does it replace our fund administrator?

No. It keeps your own operating records, such as the pipeline, decisions, positions, calls and statements, in one place. It does not provide audited accounts or tax filings.

Can we start from our spreadsheets?

Yes. Import deals and your existing portfolio from CSV (the import shows which columns it will use and which it will ignore before anything is saved), add your LP accounts and funds, and carry on from there. On the free trial the limits above apply.

Does it find deals or introduce us to investors?

No. It is where you manage the deals you source. We do not match investors with founders.
